A young man said to the priest:
Father, I'm not coming back to church.
The priest asked him what the reason was.
The young man replied:
Here I see a woman gossiping about each other, the one next to me has fallen asleep, the other can't read very well and the singers sometimes argue. During mass, someone else is busy with his cell phone, not to mention his selfish behavior when he leaves the church
The priest tells him:
- You're right. But before you leave the church for good, please do me a favor. Take this leftover candle and go around the temple three times without spilling a drop of wax. Then you can leave.
"Just that? "Okay," said the young man.
He did the three rounds as the priest requested.
Then he said to the priest:
- Father, I've done what you asked.
The priest asked him:
- When you were walking around the church, did you notice anyone chatting?
-No, I haven't.
- Did you see anyone playing with their cell phone?
-No, I haven't.
- And do you know why? You were focused on the candle so you didn't spill the oil. So that's how it is in our lives.
When our hearts are focused on Christ, we don't have time to look at other people's faults.
Those who abandon the Church because of their brothers in sin, surely haven't joined it for Christ.
